Job Summary

As the Sourcing Category Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our sourcing plans. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and managing category strategies, fostering strong vendor relationships, and engaging internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals. The position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on our supply chain operations and overall business success.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement the annual Category Strategy and Plan as assigned in line with the timing and approved sourcing methods
  • Relationship management and engagement of stakeholders for the assigned Category. The stakeholders include Branch Managers, Heads of Departments, Senior Managers, Suppliers, Contractors, and Consultants.
  • Implement controls, process improvements and ensure compliance to regulatory compliance for the assigned Category.
  • Implement Cost Management Programs/Initiatives for the Category as assigned during the business cycle.
  • Implement the supplier contract calendar, review expiries, inclusions, retirements, cancellations of contracts. 
  • Review Suppliers Performance and take appropriate actions for breaches of agreed service levels. 
  • Responsible for pricing, data integrity, contract records and supplier records.

Educational Qualifications, Experience, & Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree Business Related/Social Sciences / Supply Chain Management 
  • Member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM)
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar sourcing or procurement role, preferably in a banking or financial services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and systems is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management are highly desirable.
