Job Summary

The Technical Machine Operator will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining technical and production machinery to ensure efficient and safe manufacturing operations. The role focuses on machine setup, troubleshooting, quality control, and ensuring production targets are met. This position is ideal for a technically skilled professional with experience in operating industrial or production machinery.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Install, test, service, and maintain electrical systems and related equipment, with emphasis on cold rooms, air conditioners and freezers,
  • Service and maintain cold room equipment including compressors, evaporators, condensers, expansion valves, power panels, and refrigeration gas systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults to minimize downtime and production losses
  • Monitor power supply and power factor(PF) regularly to ensure system efficiency
  • Optimize machine uptime and performance by identifying and correcting deviations
  • Maintain and manage an inventory of critical spare parts to prevent production disruptions

Educational Qualifications, Experience, & Skills Required

  • Diploma or Higher National Diploma(HND) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 4 years’ hands-on experience, preferably in the food manufacturing industry
  • Practical experience with Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning(HVAC) and cold room systems, including compressors, evaporators, chillers, and refrigeration gas handling
  • Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers(PLCs)(Allen Bradley/Siemens), Human-Machine Interface(HMI) and Variable Frequency Drive(VFDs)
  • Strong skills in three-phase electrical systems (up to 110kW), motor starters(Direct Online Starter(DOL), Star Delta, VFD), and interpretation of electrical diagrams
