Job Summary

The Assistant Manager will supervise the daily operations of the Treasury Back Office, ensuring the accurate processing, settlement, and reconciliation of all money market and foreign exchange transactions. The role is responsible for maintaining financial integrity through rigorous validation of accounting entries and ensuring strict adherence to internal limits and regulatory compliance (KYC/AML).

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Transaction Supervision: Oversee and authorize money market entries, including Spot deals, Interbank transfers, Swaps, Forwards, Placements, and Borrowings.
  • Deal Acceptance: Review and accept customer deals booked by the Treasury Front Office to ensure accuracy before processing.
  • Financial Validation: Analyze and validate treasury accounting entries and perform regular reconciliation of Treasury General Ledger (GL) accounts.
  • Market Data Management: Supervise the checking and uploading of daily Foreign Exchange (FX) rates into the banking system.
  • Limit Management: Manage the creation of new counterparties and ensure that all treasury counterparty limits are updated and strictly maintained.
  • SWIFT Operations: Manage the input and processing of SWIFT messages for all non-trade related departmental requirements.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure 100% compliance with KYC, AML, and CFT requirements for all client instructions and departmental activities.
  • Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintaining comprehensive documentation of financial transactions, contracts, and internal procedures for audit trails and regulatory inquiries.
  • Ad-hoc Duties: Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Assistant General Manager.

Educational Qualifications, Experience, & Skills Required

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional Qualifications: ACI Operations Certificate or equivalent Treasury certification is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4–6 years of experience in Treasury Operations or Bank Back-Office environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of money market instruments, FX products, and SWIFT messaging standards.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to validate complex accounting entries and identify discrepancies in GL accounts.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision in checking FX rates and transaction data. Regulatory Awareness: In-depth knowledge of KYC, AML, and CFT guidelines within a banking context.
  • Leadership: Ability to supervise a team and manage workflow effectively under tight market deadlines.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for coordinating between Treasury Front Office and other departments.
